Oil Plus Ltd was formed in 1978 as a joint venture between
British Petroleum (BP) and Plenty Ltd to provide process chemistry and
engineering support services to the oil and gas industries. In 1982, BP sold its
shareholding to Plenty's parent company Booker McConnell. Booker McConnell
(re-named as Booker) gradually sold off divisions of the group and eventually
sold Oil Plus Ltd to EIS, EIS was purchased several years later by TI Group who
was then consolidated with Smiths Industries, which is now known as Smiths Group
plc.
Smiths Group was founded in 1851 and currently employs around
22,000 people in over 50 countries with an annual turnover of around £3 billion.
It has five operating divisions; Smiths Detection; Smiths Medical; John Crane;
Smiths Interconnect and Flex-Tek.
Today Oil Plus is part of the John Crane Production
Solutions division of Smiths Group, and operates as an independent
consultant providing clients with world-class advice and guidance in:

Oil Plus provides a complete service from the initial on-site
investigation through modelling, analysis and evaluation to the provision of
detailed technical recommendations or developed engineering solutions and
designs. This is achieved by a team of highly skilled technical and engineering
staff employed by Oil Plus, together with purpose built laboratories at its
headquarters in Newbury, UK. |
